  • What’s New:
    • Jumping: overcome small obstacles and evade attacks!
      • The default key binding for jumping is now SPACE. Switching between Interaction and Combat mode is now TAB.
      • Top Layer Objects automatically block jumping (as if they were placed with ‘full collision’ in the air) – so no jumping in or into structures with roofs.
      • New Tile Flag: ‘Air Collision’ to prevent jumping (e.g. if you don’t have a roof, but want to prevent players from jumping over your structure anyway).
      • IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CHECK YOUR STRUCTURES FOR JUMP-SAFETY! MID-LAYER-WALLS WITHOUT ANY OF THE ABOVE JUMP-RESTRICTING ELEMENTS AREN’T SAFE. IF THERE ARE UNLOCKED CONTAINERS ON YOUR ESTATES/WORLDS OR TELEPORTERS THAT YOU DON’T WANT PLAYERS TO USE YET, MAKE SURE YOU BUILD IN JUMP-RESTRICTIONS. DOORS ARE ESPECIALLY ‘VULNERABLE’, BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE LOW COLLISION MASKS.
    • Future plans to extend this feature:
      • Combat on two layers -> ground and air combat (you can already evade projectiles and melee contact by jumping).
      • Airborne NPCs.
      • Combined with damage triggers later on, ability-demanding puzzles can and will be implemented.

Finally, a new update. First quests implemented!

  • What’s New:
    • New graphic effects on mouse-over items and lootables.
    • New mechanism for getting resources: lootables. Destructibles are no longer used for this.screen06screen03screen04screen05
    • New challenges for looting objects (mining, woodcutting, foraging).
    • Exploration runes for looting objects.
    • Tool items (Pickaxe, Hatchet; made from different materials), that give speed bonuses when looting resources or allow it in the first place.screen02
    • Experience for mining, woodcutting and foraging.
    • Experience for crafting items.
    • Tutorial quests that give experience and other rewards. Be sure to talk to NPCs with exclamation points over their heads!screen01

  • Changes:
    • Henry now has stacks of 999 nutrients instead of 500.
    • Souls have been taken out of NPC loot temporarily; they will be reintroduced later, when they can be processed.
    • The server now remembers and adds up <1.0 experience points; it is now possible to gain (very little) exp, even if your level is way higher than the NPC’s.
    • Tweaked exp-from-NPC function: it’s now non-linear; very weak NPCs now give slightly less exp, strong NPCs give more.
    • Increased the Hide drop rate for sheep.
    • Much faster resource respawn rates, but decreased maximum possible outcome when refining.
    • Ghosts and the swamp troll don’t attack on sight anymore.
    • Sell prices of items with hitpoints (melee weapons, armors, tools) now take their condition into account.
    • Increased respawn time for goblins at resource spawns.
  • Bugfixes:
    • Another small challenge-title related bugfix.
    • Fixed troll stomp damage when shield is equipped.
    • Some more fixes to make server and client more stable.
    • Fixed a bug where crafted items would drop to the ground even if they could be stacked into the inventory.
    • Bugfix of a server crash when text messages were too long.
    • Fixed ranged combat NPC aiming.


I’m also happy to announce that graphic errors on ATI/AMD adapters are a matter of the past!

Update

Mostly a performance update. If you’ve had low FPS up to this point, please report in the forums if that has changed for you.

  • What’s New:
    • Added a “Help” button to the menu (also accessible via F1).
  • Changes:
    • Substantially improved client FPS, especially in the lower ranges (increase of 300%-400% on tested machines with Radeon adapter).
    • Tweaked exp from NPC-kills.
    • Less damage applied when damage didn’t surpass threshold.
    • Increased side effect strength of candy bar consumables.
    • Decreased effects strengths of caviar and lobster consumables.
    • Decreased the critical hit values of the poinard.
  • Bugfixes:
    • Fixed booster consumable cooldowns.
    • Fixed a bug regarding highscore titles.
