Statistics! Show your rank.

hp_schrift_features

  • What’s New:
    • Statistics based on global player scores.
    • Titles for highest-ranked players, visible to others. There are three possible titles per category; if you are in the top 3 of more than one category, the highest rank counts.
  • Bugfixes:
    • Challenge timeouts should now be correct (synchronized).
    • Fixed some text message issues.
    • Projectile hitboxes of players are now always the same, independent of their body.

    • To boldly go…-Challenge changed. Visiting worlds of the same owner counts only once.
    • Welcome!-Challenge changed. Every visiting player counts only once, independent of how many of your worlds he or she has visited.
    • Due to changes in the challenge system, challenges have been reset. Sorry for that!
    • NPCs won’t spam statements as much – there is now a delay of 10 seconds.
    • Some internal worldsave optimizations.

A word on wipe…
Apparently, there are concerns regarding future wipes and since this is still a pre-alpha, those concerns aren’t unjustified. All I can say at this point is this: No wipe is planned as of now. There isn’t even a reason on the far horizon. The last wipe was necessary, because some very, very basic functionality of the game changed. Elaborate estates/worlds were never and won’t ever be subject to any wipe. Premium expiration won’t delete estates/worlds, but other measures will be implemented (such as: inability to build additional stuff, if you’re over your limits; but that’s not yet decided).

Update

The Challenge System! Sorry for the long waiting time.

  • What’s New:
    • NPC loot, pixel, runes and exp are now given to the player who did the most damage.
    • Destructible (Ore, Trees, Bushes…) loot and pixel are now given to the player who did the most damage (object remembers up to 10 seconds after the last hit).
    • The Challenge System
      • There are many challenges now that give score points on stage completion.
      • There is a wide variety of challenges, connected to topics like combat, crafting, construction, exploration, social interaction and many more…
      • The interface isn’t complete yet; there will be a window that shows all of your challenges, stage progression, cooldown times and so on in the next update.
      • One of the next updates will bring statistics back – but not with character levels or owned pixels, but with player’s scores.
  • Changes:
    • Items that drop to the ground after player trades are now reserved for the players.
    • No more runes for feeding plants, but more runes for harvesting them.
    • New background graphics for crafting and container windows.
    • Increased pixel gain from destructibles.
    • No more rune/exp/challenge-points for spamming static objects. The next object only counts if it’s different than the object placed before (different graphic,color,rotation..).
    • Nerfed Mod Chance skill a little.
  • Bugfixes:
    • Freshly created worlds now show in the teleporter dialog.
    • Fixed wrong disassembly error message.


hp_schrift_premium

  • If auto-feeding is enabled and you have multiple chars, the growing time bonus from the char with the best Fast Growing skill is used.
  • If auto-feeding is enabled and you have multiple chars, the premium containers of all chars are considered when searching for nutrients.
  • There are special premium challenges!

Monday morning update. The next one will contain a super duper new feature.

  • What’s New:
    • Item Re-Buy at NPCs.
      Re-Buy price is always double the standard selling price to prevent possible exploit through Salesman skill.
      The Re-Buy “container” is emptied every three minutes or when it’s full, so it shouldn’t be used as storage.
    • Use SHIFT + Q or Drag/Drop to un-stack item stacks.
  • Changes:
    • Increased stack sizes of various items.
  • Bugfixes:
    • Fixed a disassembly exploit.
    • New or changed estates should now be transferred correctly.
    • Fixed wrong tiles being displayed on entering The Playne.


hp_schrift_premium

  • There is now a delay of 10 seconds between plant growing ingame notifications to prevent spamming.

About the Item Owner System

In short: there is none.
Internally, items are not being owned by anyone. But there is a system that determines who can control a certain item.

You are in control of an item if the item is in your inventory or on a ground that you own (estate or world). That means that only you can change or override flags of that item.

Example:

item_flags

  • Locked: The container or door can’t be accessed or opened by players that are not in control. Players that are in control still can access or open it.
  • Fixed: The item can’t be moved from the ground.
  • Only Me: Only effective, if Fixed is checked. Enables players in control to still move the item around.
The Only Me-Flag

The Only Me-flag is thought of as a temporary flag, that you can use to move your items around without having to fear about someone stealing them. You should un-check it once the item is on its resting place. That way you won’t accidentally reposition the item when accessing it.

Note on Stealing

You can lock your containers and doors all day long – if you don’t fix them to the ground, another player can just drag-steal them, get them to soil where he or she is in control and can then access them.

Item Decay

Items, that are on the ground and not fixed, will decay (be deleted) after a while. This is a technical standard measure in online games to prevent CPU/memory/network congestions.

It is never a good idea to have items, that you want to keep, laying around un-fixed!
